Title: THE BIG CRUNCH: Birthrates are falling, but it may be half-century before the number of people-and their impact-reaches a peak

1. Weather births rates are rising or falling, both have their consequences in developing countries and developed countries. The first great brake for the population growth was in the 1960’s where the birth control pill was formed, and over that the U.N. population funds brought family planning techniques to women who need them. The parent’s in developing countries are producing 25% fewer children that would be needed to replace them. In India, 16 millions births are registered each year, and in 1950 Europe’s population was tree time that of Africa, but today they are about the same. In the next 50 years Africa will triple Europe. In china the one-child policy has done good but in the culture where boys are highly valued than girls, there are more abandonment’s, abortions to wait for that boy. According to Alex Marshall of the U.N. population fund quote “We have learned that there is so such thing as ‘ population control’. You don’t control it . You allow people to make up their own minds. This affects the world because the population size relates to the earth’s carrying capacity and if there is to many people there won’t be enough resources and land to meet all of their needs.

2. This issues fits in one of the 5 themes of social studies, that is culture, because like in China or India the number of children is determined by culture and /or family culture. The decision the couple makes on how many children they should have, is a personal choice and sometimes could be incorporated with cultural reasons.

3. word: POPULATION
People around the world have the choice on weather they wants kids or not.

Over in the year 2050 the population of the earths would be inbetween 7.3 & 10.7 billion.

People live longer because the population is not just big but also older.

U.N. Population fund are dedicated to bringing family planning to woman in need.

Later in time population growth would be even higher.

At least family planning programs are opening.

There is no telling weather we have already exhausted to feed 6 billion people.

I believe that couples should make careful choices.

One child policy has it consequences due to their culture.

No one I believe in this earth should be left out.

The Revealers Second Responce Blog

It is 10:00 pm on a Wednesday night; you have finished your homework and you are chatting on MSN with three other friends. After 10 minutes two more friends ask to join the chat. By 10:30 pm five more people have joined and it is fun; however, there is a joke said about one of the people, rapidly followed by an insult. At first, no one knows how to respond, then seconds later a message pops up stating, "I didn’t say that! It isn’t me saying these things. Someone is using my name. What is going on here?"

What is the issue involved in this scenario?
Why is this serious?
What would be a responsible way to handle this situation?
How could a situation like this be resolved?
How would one of the three main characters from The Revealers deal with this situation?

The situation is that there are people who are saying things that make other people think its you but in a bad way. This is serious because people think of you in a way that you don't want to be thought of which is always uncomfortable. A responsible way to handle this situation is to tell the truth because there is nothing more than the truth because the truth is the evidence. Again this can be resolved by telling the truth and confronting whom you think might have said that false comment about you. The main characters of THE REAVELARS would handle this by writing it in the reavelers on kid net because that is were they can tell their problems and the truth about them self like what Catelina did.

The Reavelers first blog response

Blog Question: Is bullying a rite of passage of childhood and adolescence? Is it apart of the maturation process one needs to go through to reach adulthood? Explain. Mrs. Hogeboom brings up this topic on page 108.

I think that going through bullying is an act that should not be passed through to grow to adulthood. No one deserves the right to be bullies because they kids are already going through so much changes not needing to have and another problem to deal with. Bullying will always put self-esteems down and if it happens the victim is going to be like Elliot because he is such a quiet boy and he is always being bullied and suddenly he gets out of control, trying to get revenge, and I think revenge is never the answer(pg.54). Bullying could be a phrase that some children go through, but it is absolutly not a rite of passage of childhood and adolescence.
